Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), is located in North Wales and stands at 1085 metres tall. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales, and makes up the last of the National Three Peaks Challenge.
The route we take:
Much like Scafell, Snowdon has many different routes you can take to the summit (you can even get a train). The total distance of the hike is 7.6 miles (12.2 km). We begin at Pen-y-pass car park where we ascend up the Pyg trail for a total ascent of 723 metres to reach the summit. Following a very steady path the entire way, this is the easiest of the National Three Peaks. For the descent, we follow the same route we took to climb up until we reach the large standing stone which marks where the Pyg track and Miners track meet. We then take the Miners track back into Pen-y-pass car park where we finally complete the Three Peaks Challenge.
Where is Snowdon?
Snowdon is located in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.
