The Three Peaks Challenge consists of the largest three peaks in Scotland, England and Wales. You have to complete all three peaks within a 24 hour period; inclusive of travel time. It typically consists of 14 hours of climbing (Ben Nevis 5.5 hours, Scafell Pike 4 hours and Snowdon 4.5 hours) and 10 hours of commuting between peaks (Ben Nevis - Scafell Pike 6 hours, Scafell Pike - Snowdon 4 hours). The total distance is 26 miles of hiking, with an ascent of 3408m and 450 miles travelling between peaks.
Fun Fact - there are higher peaks in Scotland than Snowdon and Scafell Pike, the challenge is just representative of the tallest peaks in each of the countries.
